here is my latest update.....going home on Friday 9/25  i will be having home therapy for a few weeks. still have about three weeks before i can put any weight on right leg.  I still have my goal of riding again thanksgiving weekend. so i am busting my ass to get thru all of this. i will keep you all posted on the ride..... thanks again for everything, mark |

It's great to hear you are home!!!! Stay strong and do what the doctor say's so you don't mess up anything by trying too hard or doing something sooner then your body is ready for!! It will set you back even further. I admire your determination, but you don't want a set back. I'll keep you in my prayers and will be happy to ride along with you guys when and if you're ready!!!!

Thank you to all for your well wishes...Life is what it is.....Have my good days and trust me my bad ones too...BUT I AM BOUND AND DETERMINED and stubborn as TERR said....NOT GONNA LET THIS KEEP ME DOWN....
OK my update on meeee...
I have a ruptured disk in my back along with my root tip nerve compressed..My left leg has alot of muscle damage and STILL BRUISED...It still swells at the end of the evening, actually toes turn a pretty shade of purple....Developed a mass in my lower left calf, but I think it is because I really overdid it BIKE WEEK....Wanted to get out for a bit on Friday night, so went to Traders, some man decided he wanted to dance and started humping my good leg as I sat with the bad leg propped up...DANG FOOL KNOCKED me off my stool....So knew it was time for me to get going.Saturday I was at Oasis due to a benefit I started a couple of months ago, so I had to follow through with it...YUP TERR my stuborness, couldn't bail on the good folks at The Helping Hands Society...Ya'll know me..I have to finish what I start........Sooooo did more damage then good to myself...Soooo Been doing what the doctors say...BED REST leg propped up...
THANKS AGAIN TO ALL...The nurses said I had the most visitors in 2 days that they even seen "62"....shewwww alot of love was being shown...ALL ARE WONDERFUL......Soooo again thank you all for the visits, the flowers, the cards, the smiles and even the tears......LOVE YOU ALL!!

Been awhile since I updated....I'm going to outpatient therapy 3 days a week (started 10/23)... started to put weight back on broken leg...hopefully this progresses at a rapid pace and I can get rid of the walker and crutches...the cracks in the L1 and L2 still sore and probably will be for awhile longer....I have cut back on almost all of my meds...just a pain pill maybe once or twice a day....I am so looking forward to getting back in the saddle and riding again...still shooting for Thanksgiving weekend.... :  mark |

Aww man... Its been a bad one for me. Im poorer than a churchmouse anymore, the job just keeps gettin tougher and my bike even has a flat tire I cant afford to fix. *Sigh* Oh well, looking forward to next riding season! Hopefully things will get better for me by then.
How are things going with IO?
