This isnt about making money, its about honoring a fallen friend and trying to help out his kids in whatever way we can... - Luke (One of the organizers behind the Muskrat Runs)

Over three years ago, a Delmarva biker was killed on his bike while making his way home. He left behind two small girls, a wife and a fair number of friends. While his death is truly tragic, the friends he left behind honor him by doing what they can to help his wife and kids. This was the origin of the yearly June Muskrat Run out of Laurel DE.

Without a doubt, the coolest thing about doing this site is the people that I get to meet. Some are complete boneheads, some you dont much care for, some you just dont know about, alot are pretty indifferent and more than would you think are very cool people. Luke and his wife Barb, Dave, Crazy Tim and the rest of thier crew all fall into this last catagory, without a doubt!

For the last three years, they have organized the June Muckrat Run out of Castaways in Laurel DE. This event is a poker run, complete with an awesome ride through Delmarva and stops at some of the more friendly watering holes in the area. This years run was no exception, with a great ride out from Delmar to Vienna, back through some of the nicest backroads on Delmarva to Jimmys in East New Market, to Federalsburg and then back to Castways.

Included in the $10 deal was a great Pork Sandwich lunch complete with home cooked beans, chips, your choice of sweet or sour pickle and drink. No doubt, Luke and Co know how to put on a great show!

Unfortunately, I missed a big part of the after event party, but I did win a very nice liscense plate holder out of the raffle items. There was a fair amount of local donated goods up for auction, including a #6 budwiser hood and a crown royal hood complete with a fifth of Crown Royal to go with it!

A big thanks to the crew out of Castaways for showing me a great time! Those were some awesome backroads you guys charted and I cant wait for next time out!

Editors Note:Unfortunately, my Stylus Digital was a casualty of the event... I had the dam thing when I got to Castaways, but when I got home I checked my pockets and... NO CAMERA! Oh well, what can ya do? Sorry there are no pics to go with this article, perhaps some of the people who were also taking pics could send emil them in. Id love to get something posted, these guys did an awesome job on the event and they deserve all the recognition they can get!
